Rust Repair Tutorial

This week sees the launch of Granville's new Rust Repair Liquid. Now this stuff is the bee's knees, what can I say? It's easy to use, takes only 15mins to work its magic and also comes in a gel formulation for easy application on hard to reach and horizontal surfaces.

So let's take a look at how to use Granville Rust Repair Liquid and Gel...

More after the jump.

Give the item a good scrub

The first thing's first is to prepare the surface for application. Get a wire brush or another suitable abrasive and remove heavy rust, old paint and anything flaky from the surface.

Prepare the product

Next, it's time to get the product ready for application if you haven't already done so. Pour the desired amount of product into a container and have a brush or cloth to hand.

Application

Now it's time to apply the product. Brush it liberally onto rusted areas but be careful to avoid any areas which have good paint work as it might cause discolouration. Don't worry if you do get any Rust Repair on the paintwork though, just wash it off with water.

Allow to develop

Go and grab yourself a cuppa whilst Rust Repair gets to work. You'll have about 15mins to kill until the rust turns a dark blue/black colour to let you know the reaction has occurred. Check the results - if rust was particularly heavy you might need to reapply.

Wipe off the excess

Take a dry, lint free cloth and wipe off the excess product. Make sure you don't use water to wipe off the product.

Surface is ready to paint

You can now go ahead and paint or file the surface as desired.

It's as straight forward as that, folks. Granville Rust Repair is available now from your local area sales manager so give them a bell, or contact the Granville sales team at head office to get more details.
